Subject: FUNDRAISING - CLARINGTON ANIMAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administrative Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . THAT Report CD-46-97 be received;
2 . THAT interim financing be provided from Account Number
29000-12-X for the payment of 24 "Clarington Animal Shelter
Supporter" T-shirts for a total amount of $270 . 00 and this
amount be reimbursed upon completion of the sale of the
T-shirts;
3 . THAT Staff be authorized to purchase articles of promotion and
sales for future fundraising events from Account Number
29000-12-X to an upset limit of $500 . 00 per event to be used
as a float and replenished with the funds generated from the
fundraiser; and
4 . THAT Todd Hoffman, Chairman, Clarington Animal Advisory
Committee, be advised of Council' s decision.
BACKGROUND
In the past year, the Clarington Animal Shelter has received a
total amount of $5, 191 . 05 in donations . Of this amount, $949 . 50
was raised by the Animal Advisory Committee from two events :
• Animal Shelter "Open House" , and
• "Clarington Animal Shelter Day" at the
Bowmanville Zoo
The funds raised for the Animal Shelter are deposited in the
Shelter Donations Account number 29000-12-X immediately following
each event . Thus, the Animal Advisory Committee has no funds
available for the purchase of articles of promotion and sale for
the next fund raiser.

Twenty-four "Clarington Animal Shelter Supporter" T-shirts have
been purchased at a total cost of $270 . 00 in preparation for past
and future fundraisers . Council' s authority is requested to access
the Animal Shelter Donations Account for payment of these T-shirts .
The total amount will be reimbursed upon completion of the sale of
the T-shirts .
The Treasurer concurs with the recommendations .
It is therefore recommended:
