Subject: ISSUANCE OF SPECIAL EVENTS PERMIT -
ONTARIO RODEO CHAMPIONSHIPS
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that Council approve the
following:
1 . THAT Report CD-47-96 be received;
2 . THAT an exemption from Sections 2a) and 3 (1) of By-law 91-56
be granted to allow the Clerk to issue a Special Events
Licence to the Kinsmen Club of Bowmanville for the staging
of the Ontario Rodeo Championships to be held on
September 20 and 21, 1996, upon receipt of all required
documentation; and
3 . THAT Steve Cruickshank be advised of Council' s decision.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
On September 6, 1996, the Kinsmen Club of Bowmanville submitted
an application to the Municipality for a special events licence
in accordance with By-law 91-56 for the staging of the Ontario
Rodeo Championships on September 20 and 21, 1996 .
Because By-law 91-56 states that the application for a special
events licence must be submitted to the Clerk at least 45 days
prior to an event and the licence must be issued at least 30 days
prior to an event, it is recommended that an exemption be granted
to Sections 2a) and 3 (1) to allow for a licence to be issued for
the rodeo.
