Subject: 1 . 6537 WERRY ROAD
2 . 110 WELLINGTON STREET
3 . 59 ONTARIO STREET
4 . 210 KING STREET WEST, NEWCASTLE VILLAGE
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . THAT Report CD-9-95 be received;
2 . THAT the By-laws to designate the properties be forwarded to
Council for passage;
3 . THAT the Clerk be authorized to publish Notices of
Designation in the newspapers and forward a certified copy
of the by-laws to the property owners and to the Ontario
Heritage Foundation;
4 . THAT a copy of the by-laws designating the properties be
forwarded to the Town' s Solicitor for registration on title
so that future owners and anyone else who may be interested
in the properties will be aware of the fact that they have
been designated; and
5 . THAT the Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee
be advised that the properties have been designated.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
On November 28, 1994 , Council adopted the recommendations
contained in Report PD-135-94, which authorized the Clerk to
proceed with the designations of the subject properties .
The following actions have been completed in accordance with the
Ontario Heritage Act, R.S .O. 1990 :

1 . The property owners were requested to signify, in writing,
that they were prepared to undertake the designation of
their properties .
2 . Notice of Intention to Designate was forwarded to the owners
of the properties and to the Ontario Heritage Foundation by
Registered Mail . The Notice was published in the local
newspapers, once each week for three consecutive weeks -
December 18, 1994, January 4 and 11, 1995 . The period for
filing objections to the proposed designations ended on
January 27, 1995 . No objections were received in this time
period.
3 . By-laws to designate the properties pursuant to the Ontario
Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990, will be presented to Council on
March 13 , 1995 .
Once the by-laws have been passed, notices of designations will
be published in the local newspapers, and the by-laws will be
registered on title .
For Committee' s information, L.A.C.A.C. will be attending the
Council Meeting of March 27, 1995, to present plaques to these
property owners together with the three owners of property which
was designated in September 1994 .
