BACKGROUND AND COMMENT Under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Recreation "Designated Property Grant Program" grants are available to owners of designated properties to cover 50 percent of the cost of restoration projects, to a maximum of $3 , 000 . 00 per year. The Ministry has indicated that there are sufficient funds to ensure that each municipality will receive an allocation equivalent to at least one full grant and any remaining funds will be disbursed on a pro-rata basis up to a maximum of five projects . 615 Report CD-22-95 - 2 - July 10, 1995 In consultation with the Ministry, L.A.C.A.C. has been advised that submission should be made for all applications received on the off chance that additional funds become available . Accordingly the Committee placed an advertisement in the local newspapers requesting applications from designated property owners . Subsequently eight applications were filed which have since been reviewed by the Committee and have been determined to meet the program' s grant criteria. It is therefore appropriate that the applications be processed at this time . Once the work has been completed and inspected by L.A. C.A.C. , a subsequent report will be forwarded to the Committee authorizing payment of the grant . Respectfully submitted Reviewed by , Patti. Barr' A.M. C.T W.H.
