THAT Report CD-13-93 be received; 2 . THAT the request received from the Lioness Club of Newcastle for a licence to sell Break-Open (Nevada) tickets from a third party location be approved; 3 . THAT the licence be issued, provided the retail outlet is registered under the Gaming Services Act and the licensee complies with all other Terms and Conditions of the licence; and 4. THAT Kathleen Powell, President, Lioness Club of Newcastle, be advised of Council's decision. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT The Clerk's Department has received an application from the Lioness Club of Newcastle to manage and conduct a Nevada Ticket Lottery, requesting permission to sell Break-Open (Nevada) tickets from a third party location. This organization would like to sell tickets from "Mike's Place" in Newcastle Village and the owner of this outlet has agreed to sell tickets on behalf of the organization. With the passage of the new Gaming Services Act, it will be necessary for "Mike's Place" to be registered with the Province before being able to sell the tickets. 2 11u4 G 1R I-W RE-LED PA III R Report CD-13-93 Page 2 July 19, 1993 In view of the fact that Council has, in the past, granted permission to sell Break-Open (Nevada) tickets and this organization is based in the Municipality of Clarington, it is therefore recommended: 1. THAT Report CD-13-93 be received; 2 . THAT the request received from the Lioness Club of Newcastle for a licence to sell Break-Open (Nevada) tickets from a third party location be approved; 3 . THAT the licence be issued provided the retail outlet is registered under the Gaming Services Act and the licensee complies with all other Terms and Conditions of the licence; and 4 . THAT Kathleen Powell, President, Lioness Club of Newcastle be advised of Council's decision. The applicant has been advised of the contents of this report.
