Subject: REQUEST FOR LICENSE TO SELL BREAK-OPEN LOTTERY (NEVADA)
TICKETS - HEART AND STROKE FOUNDATION
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report CD-25-93 be received;
2 . THAT the request received from the Heart and Stroke Foundation for
a licence to sell Break-Open (Nevada) tickets from a third party
location be approved;
3 . THAT the Heart and Stroke Foundation be advised of Council's
decision.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT
The Clerk's Department has received an application from the Heart and
Stroke Foundation to manage and conduct a Nevada Ticket Lottery,
requesting permission to sell Break-Open (Nevada) tickets from a third
party location. This organization would like to sell tickets from Neils
Variety, 7 Division Street, Bowmanville, and the owner of this outlet has
agreed to sell tickets on behalf of the organization.
In view of the fact that Council has, in the past, granted permission to
sell Break-Open (Nevada) tickets, it is therefore recommended:
1. THAT Report CD-25-93 be received;

3 . THAT the retail outlet is registered under the Gaming Services Act
and the licensee complies with all other Terms and Conditions of the
licence; and
4 . THAT the Heart and Stroke Foundation be advised of Council's
decision.
