Subject: TRUSTEE DISTRIBUTION - THE NORTHUMBERLAND AND NEWCASTLE
BOARD OF EDUCATION - 1991 MUNICIPAL ELECTION
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report CD-27-91 be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Pursuant to the Education Act, R.S.O. 1980, a determination has
been made with respect to the distribution of the Trustees for
the Northumberland & Newcastle Board of Education.
As provided in the Act, the Clerks of the three largest
municipalities in the Board's jurisdiction, being the Town of
Newcastle, the Town of Cobourg, and the Town of Port Hope, met on
February 19, 1991, to determine the distribution. The outcome of
this exercise does not change the number of representatives for
the Town of Newcastle nor does it change the distribution of the
Trustees .
