APPLICATION FOR DESIGNATED PROPERTY GRANT
MR. AND MRS. H. MOFFAT, ORONO, ONTARIO.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report CD-12-90 be received;
2 . THAT the Designated Property Grant Application submitted by
Mr. and Mrs . H. Moffat for a Grant of $2,500 .00 be approved;
3 . THAT the funds required be taken from the Miscellaneous
Clearing Account #1003-00015-0000; and
4 . THAT Mr. and Mrs . H. Moffat and Mrs. P. Dewell be advised of
the actions taken.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
The property owned by Mr. and Mrs . Harold Moffat, Lot 27,
Concession 5, former Township of Clarke, was designated as a
heritage property earlier in the year. The owners have identified
work at a cost of $5,000 .00 to rebuild a fieldstone wall gable end
and have filed an application for a grant of $2 ,500 . 00 to assist
in offsetting the cost.

Under the Designated Property Grant Program of the Ministry of
Culture and Communications, grants are available to owners of
properties which have been designated under the Ontario Heritage
Act. The Ministry has indicated that funds are available and it
is appropriate that this application, which meets the program's
grant criteria, be processed at this time.
The work on this home was done during the time when the
documentation for the designation process was in progress . The
Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee has inspected
and approved the completed work. It is, therefore, recommended
that the grant application submitted by Mr. and Mrs . H. Moffat in
the amount of $2,500 . 00 be approved.
