EVA JACKSON RECOMMENDATIONS: It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration Committee recommend to Council the following: 1. THAT Report CD-32-90 be received; 2 . THAT a Designated Property Grant in the amount of $3,000 . 00 be approved for Mrs . Eva Jackson; 3 . THAT the funds required be taken from the Miscellaneous Clearing Account #1003-00015-X; and 4 . THAT the Ministry of Citizenship and Culture, Mrs . Eva Jackson, and Mrs . Phyllis Dewell, Chairman, Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee, be advised of Council's decision. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: The subject property was designated as a historical site by the Council of the Town of Newcastle in 1984 . Eva Jackson, has recently had restoration work completed which involved the replacement of the verandah floor and the bases of the verandah column. The work has been inspected and found to be satisfactory by the Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee (see attached letter) .
