REPORT TO GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE MEETING
HELD DECEMBER 13 , 1982

SUBJECT: TENDER T82-10 , PETROLEUM PRODUCTS (BULK GASOLINE & DIESEL)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended:
1. that this report be received; and
2 . that Petro Canada Ventures , Toronto, Ontario with a
unit price bid of $ . 361/litre for the bulk supply
of leaded gasoline and Sipco Oil Ltd. , Oshawa, Ontario
with a unit price bid of $ . 363/litre for the bulk
supply of no. 1 diesel fuel being the lowest respon-
sible bidders meeting all terms , conditions and spec-
ifications of Tender T82-10 be awarded the contract
to supply and deliver bulk petroleum to the Town of
Newcastle Public Works Depots for the 1983 calendar
year and that the funds expended be provided from
within the 1983 current operating budgets for the
facilities .
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tenders were publicly advertised and called for the supply and del-
ivery of bulk leaded gasoline and diesel fuel as required by the

Department of Public Works for the storage tank facilities at the
three locations , Orono , Hampton and Bowmanville.

The bids were received and tabulated as per the attached Appendix

After review and analysis of the bids by staff it was agreed that
the low bidders , Petro Canada Ventures , Toronto and Sipco Oil Ltd. ,
Oshawa for the supply and delivery of bulk leaded gasoline and
diesel fuel respectively , be awarded the contracts .
The new prices reflect a decrease from current prices of $ . 38/litre
for leaded gasoline and $ . 392/litre for no . 2 diesel fuel .
