SUBJECT: TENDER T82-8 MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL
RENOVATIONS , BOWMANVILLE TOWN HALL
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended that :
1. That this report be received; and
2 . That Hyten Mechanical Ltd. , Port Hope, Ontario with
a bid in the amount of $31 , 238 , 00 being the lowest
responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions
and specifications of tender T82-8 be awarded the
contract for the Mechanical and Electrical Renovations
to the Bowmanville Town Hall and that the funds be
expended in the amount of $6 , 550. 00 for labour from
the Ontario Employment Incentive Grant and the balance
for material costs be funded from the Administrative
Improvement Reserve Fund (#1110-X-168-4) .
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tender T82-8 was recently called for the Mechanical and Electrical
Renovations to the Bowmanville Town Hall , with design plans and
specifications provided by the engineering consulting firm of
Totten , Sims & Hubicki Associates , Whitby, and the following bids
were received and evaluated as follows :

NOTE : Rejected bid due to the absence of a bid deposit which
disqualifies the bidder.
After review and evaluation of the bids by the Director of
Community Services and Purchasing and consultation with Mr.
D. Treleaven of Totten , Simms and Hubicki Associates , Whitby,
it was agreed that the aforementioned recommendation be
proposed for approval .
