TR-69-82 SUBJECT: SELF-INSURED LOSSES RESERVE - PUBLIC LIBRARY - LOSS RECOMMENDATION: It is respectfully recommended: 1 . That this report be received, and 2. That $910,00 be taken from the Self-Insured Losses Reserve in the favour of the Town of Newcastle Public Library to cover their loss. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: On October 4th, 1982 the Town of Newcastle Public Library was illegally entered and various items were stolen. These items (cassettes , records and tape players) were valued at $910.00. See attached Police report. On October 20th, 1982 the Library Board passed a resolution,( see attached) requesting for reimbursement from the Town through the Self Insured Losses Reserve as the insurance deductible of $2,500.00 is too high to cover this incident. Council will recall the Self-Insured Losses Reserve was established through the premium savings which resulted from the increase in the deductibility limit and the balance of this reserve as of October 14th, 1982 is $7,400.00. This is the first request for these funds.
