SUBJECT: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION RE: PETERBOROUGH VICTORIA
NORTHUMBERLAND NEWCASTLE SEPARATE SCHOOL BOARD
LEVY TO AMEND TR-19-82.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended:
1 . That this report be received and the attached
pages be received amendments to TR-19-82.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
The Separate School Board Requisition was received April 27, 1982
too late for inclusion in Report TR-19-82 included on the May 3,
1982 Agenda of the General Purpose and Administration Meeting.
The amended pages are attached to replace the incomplete pages
in TR-19-82.
The levy results in the following mill rates for the Elementary
Separate School Supporters:
Residential and Farm 91.29 Mills
Business and Commercial 107.40 Mills
The amount of the levy is $ 236,032 The total base mill rate for
Residential Separate School Supporters is 322.91 Mills and for
Business and Commercial Separate School Supporters is 379.90 Mills.

Re: 1982 Mill Rates
Your request to receive estimated mill rates was referred to the Director
of Education. He has instructed me to inform you' to use the following
estimated mill rates for 1982:
Residential and Farm 91.29 93721 Mills) Amended per phone call
Business and Commercial 107.40 i69:66 Mills) April 30, 1982
Please note in your information to the ratepayer that these are estimated
mill rates. In accordance with Section 214(3) of the Education Act, any
difference determined on the basis of actual data shall be adjusted in the
levy for 1983. It is anticipated that the Board will set the actual mill
rates at its meeting on April 28, 1982.

By-Law Number 82-
BEING A BY-LAW TO ADOPT THE ESTIMATES OF ALL SUMS REQUIRED DURING THE YEAR FOR MUNICIPAL
PURPOSES AND TO STRIKE THE RATES OF TAXATION FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES FOR THE YEAR 1982.
WHEREAS, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle has, in accordance with the Municipal
Act, considered the estimates of the Municipality and it is necessary that the following sums be raised
by means of taxation for the year 1982.
General Purposes 8,765,201
Area and Special Rates 557,962
Regional Purposes 2,969,500
Elementary School 3,647,695
Separate School 236,032
Secondary School 3,332,304
AND WHEREAS, the Assessment Roll made in 1970 and upon which the 1982 taxes are to be levied is the
latest returned assessment roll , which roll is still subject to revision by the Court of Revision;
AND WHEREAS, the amount of Assessment entitled to benefit hereinafter to be referred to as Residential
and Farm, and the amount of Assessment not entitled to benefit from unconditional grants in accordance with
Chap. 302, Sec. 58 and 164 of the Municpal Act hereinafter referred to as Commercial and Business , is
as follows:

By-Law Number 82-
THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle enacts as follows:
1. That the estimated expenditures required during the year 1982 totalling
less the estmated revenue totalling leaving a net amount of
to be adopted and the following amounts be levied therefore in the manner as set out
hereunder:

2. There shall be levied and collected upon the assessable land, buildings, and businesses
