REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINSITRATION COMMITTEE MEETING OF
FEBRUARY 8, 1982.

SUBJECT: AUDIT COMMITTEE
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectivefully reommended:
1. That this report be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
On January 19, 1982 Members of Council met as the "Audit Committee" with a
representative of Deloittes, Haskins & Sells and Town Staff to review the
upcoming annual municipal audit. There were five main topics of discussion:
1. The staffing of the Audit team.
2. The timing of the completion of the financial statement.
3. The type •of information required of municipal staff.
4. The status of outstanding invoices from Hall Boards.
5. The advisability of reviewing all the local boards in .1982 to determine
which ones require external audits and which can be reviewed by the
Treasurer on an annual basis.
Confidential notes for the meeting have been distributed under separate cover
to Members of Council .
