Subject: Fire Department Communication Equipment Funding
Recommendation:
It is respectfully recommended:
1. That this report be received, and
2. That a budget re-allocation be approved from account number
7102-001-001 Salaries in the amount of $6,300 to account
number 7102-205-001 Telephone and Communications.
Background and Comment:
Council has approved the expenditure under resolution #C-973-81 for the Fire
Department's new communication equipment. My budget review with the Fire Chief
has brought to light the fact that within his salaries budget of 1981 there was
an allocation for a Deputy-Fire Chief in the amount of $18,500 and for a Secretary
in the amount of $6,500. Those allocations in the amount of $25,000 will not be
fully utilized in 1981 and he requests that the $6,300 be funded through his current
budget by the aforementioned re-allocation of the budget.
