Sims , Q.C. , Acting Town Adminstrator DATE: Report - March 2, 1981 Meeting - March 3, 1981 SUBJECT: Baseline Community Centre - Architect Fees ITEM: TR-14-81 Recommendation: "That the Finance and Administration Committee recommend to Council that Mr. Grant Robertson's fees as Architect for the Baseline Community Centre be approved at 9% of the estimated project cost and that his estimate of the project cost be recognized 'at $149,500. " Report: Mr. Robertson in a letter to Mr. McIlroy dated February 10, 1981 asked for an adjustment in his fees based on a new estimate of the cost of construction which he estimated would increase by 62% from $139,500 to $149,500. Mr. Robertson was retained on June 5, 1980 under contract for a fixed amount of $10,800 which was based on an estimate of $123,500. Subsequently the project was revised to $139,500 with the addition of a basement. We agree with Mr. Robertson's submission that the scope of the project has changed beyond the original contract terms and should therefore be amended accordingly. i K. Degroot.
