SUBJECT: Resolution #F-125-80
"THAT it be recommended to Council that the Town
property on the north side of Caroline Street, opposite
the arena in the Village of Newcastle be appraised and
the Town Manager be authorized to organize the appraisal."
Resolution #F-125-80 was presented to Council at their meeting of June 2nd,
1980 and the recommendation was approved by resolution #C-80-771. As there
was no survey available for this property in order to comply with the
resolution a survey of the property was ordered and was received on June
20th, 1980 from Merrill Brown O.L.S.
Council received the attached letter from the Newcastle Arena Management
Board and at the Council Meeting of June 16th, 1980 this letter was
referred to the Town Manager for a report to the next Finance and Administration
Committee.
At a Special Meeting of Council held on May 13th., 1980 Council passed
Resolution #C-80-727:
"THAT Council concur with the reduction as proposed by the
Mayor in the amount of $50,800.00."
A copy of Mayor Rickard's report is attached.
As you will note in Mayor Rickard's report the proceeds from the sale of
this property are to be credited to the Road Capital Reserve Account
in order to offset storm drainage works to be completed in Ward 3 in
1980.
Recommendation:
1. That the letter from the Newcastle Arena Management Board
be received and the Board be advised that Council has made a
previous decision on the disposition of this property.
2. That staff be instructed to complete instructions contained
in Resolution 0-125-80.
