Guiler, Town Manager DAZE: June 6th, 1980 SUBJECT: Baseline Community Centre Resolution #C-80-756 "THAT the request contained in the letter dated May 14th, 1980 from the Baseline Community Centre Board be approved and referred to the Town Manager in co-operation with Mayor Rickard, Councillor Holliday and Councillor Cowman to take the necessary action with power to act." In reviewing the letter dated May 14th, 1980 from the Community Centre Board, we note the following; actions must be take to camplete the project. In),U_Swr ACTION '110 BE TAKEN BY COUNCIL 1 . Di-pose o f present C inia n i ty Centre Pass the attached by-law authorizing the Mayor and Clerk to execute the agreement of purchase and sale attached to by-law # as Schedule " . In preparing the agreement of purchase and sale we have added a clause to allow the Town of Newcastle to salvage the cement plaque located above the south entrance and a bottle that is believed to be located in or around the corner stone. 2. Appoint Grant Robertson as Pass the attached by-law to Architect for this project authorize the Mayor and Clerk (see letter dated May 15, 1980) to enter into the attached standard form of agreement with the conditions as set out in letter dated May 15th, 1980. 3. Request East Woodbridge Developments This request has been prepared and Limited to increase the land dedication sent out by Mayor Rickard. from two to three and one-half acres. 4. Request application be made to Pass Attached resolution Ministry of Culture and Recreation for authorizing Treasurer to prepare Community Centre's Grant. Application for Community Centres Grant. 5. Other items to be completed once we have received word from East Woodbridge Developments Limited regarding request for additional lands: 1. prepare survey with grades - will require land surveyor 7114-20-80 2. Department of Health re: Septic this item will be dealt Tank System with during preparation by Architect. 3. Construction of Well this item to be dealt with once actual location of building is established and land transfer has been completed. G. The Community Centre Board has asked the following question: "Who controls the spending of the money which will be set in a bank account for "The Baseline Cb munity Centre Building Fluid?" r WHEIIEAS the Council has determined that the new construction of the Baseline Community Centre is in the best interest of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle, the Treasurer is hereby authorized to prepare the Application for the Community Centre Grant in accordance with the Community Centre Act.
