Repairs to ADvonditioning
As requested we have reviewed the accounts for repairs by the OshalwAp.
Refrigeration Service to the above mentioned system. We also asked
Oshaw,l Refrigeration S(wvic.c foi• a wi-i.t,ten ayplanation of the repairs
carried out (see letter attached) .
The written warranty supplied with the price of equipment states that
the following are not manufacturing defects and are not covered by the
York Factory Warranty:
1 . Dinklge ivsul ti.ng from handling during installation or damage
resulting from transportation.
2. Damage resulting from negligent installation and/or servicing.
3. Damage caused by accident, abuse, fire, flood, Acts of God
alteration of unit or tampering,or alteration, effacement
or removal of' unit serial number.
4. Damage caused by use of unit in a corrosive atmosphere.
5. Failure of unit to operate due to voltage conditions, blown
fuses, or other damage due to inadequacy or interruption of
electrical service.
6. Cleaning or replacement of filters.
7. Failure to have unit completely accessible for servicing.
8. Damage resulting from failure to properly and regularly clean air
and/or water side of the condenser and evaporator.
9. Durango cesut ling from rl'uev,ing of condenser NvaLci• or condensate,
.inadequate or interrupted water supply; use of corrosive water;
vearvangenent of unit plumbing system; fouling or restriction of
the water circuit by foreign material.
10. Parts installation that prevent unit from operating with adequate
supply of condenser or evaporator air.
You will note on Invoice #C-02449 that Lhuru is no change foie the
Compressor Unit as this was covered tinder the extended warranty. It

As this facility is operated by the Library Board,maintenance and repairs
of equipment under their control is charged against their Operation Budget.
Recanmendation: That the Invoice from Oshawa Refrigeration Service Limited
be returned to the Newcastle Library Board for payment.
