SUBJECT: Council Resolution #C-1137-79
"THAT Mr. Guiler be appointed to sit on the
Splash Building Committee and report back to
Council and that the Terms of Reference should
be in writing. "
On September 18th, 1979 the Splash Building Committee consisting of the
following members:
M. Brown
W. Bagnell
B. Hicks
A. Strike
G. Holmes, Northumberland-Newcastle Board of Education
Councillor W. Clarke
Mayor G. B. Rickard
A. C. Guiler
met to receive proposals from consultants to carry out the professional
services required for the building of the proposed recreational complex.
The Committee received written and verbal proposals from Totten, Sims,
Hubicki Associates Limited; David A. G.Mills, Architect, Oshawa; Michael
C. Ogus, Architect, Oshawa; Grant Robertson, Architect, Cobourg and Pentland
Baker & Polson, Architects, Toronto. A brief outline of each consultant's
presentation is contained in the minutes of the Building Committee meeting
dated September 18th, 1979.
Staff have reviewed the various requirements for Wintario Grants and would
draw to Council's attention that the following will have to be completed
in order for the project to receive grants:
1) Council will be required to pass a resolution
accepting financial responsibility of the project.
2) Town must establish ownership of the property
and define the method of operation.
3) Town must apply for Ontario Municipal Board approval
of the project.
Recommendation: Receive for information.
