SUBJECT: Maintenance & Occupancy By-Law
In early 1978 Council requested Staff to review the legislation
regarding a Maintenance & Occupancy By-Law and the attached
report TM-59-78 and report dated September 14th, 1978 from
H.Wight, Chief Building Official address themselves to this.
The information provided in the attached reports are still valid
and we are of the opinion it would take approximately 75 to 100
hours of staff and Council' s time to research and prepare a suitable
by-law to govern the urban and rural aspects of the Town.
Before such an undertaking we must know the following:
1.) Is the Council interested in such legislation;
2.) If so, is the Council prepared to appoint the necessary
property standards committee and property standard's
officer for the enforcement of the by-law.
