SUBJECT: C.N. Station Bowmanville
We have beenaddvised by C.N. that they would like to remove the station
building in Bowmanville to implement Phase II of their Servo-Centre
Program.
I attach a copy of a letter from Mrs. Hubbard, Chairperson of the
Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee advising that they
would like to see this building preserved. However, in speaking with
Mrs. Hubbard she did realize that to preserve this building would be
an extremely costly venture.
I would respectfully recommend to Council that we advise C.N. that
they can implement their plans for demolishing the station, however,
we should try to secure the original "Bos,manville" sign and the old
telegraph head set for the museum.
