REPORT TO COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING
REPORT NO.: P-79-81
SUBJECT: Orono Musem Relocation - Possible Use of Kirby
School Site
RECOMMENDATION:
It is respectfully recommended:
1. That this Report be received for information.
BACKGROUND & COMMENT:
Ms. D. Layng appeared at the Council meeting of April 6,
1981, in respect of the above. The attached resolution was passed
at that time (#C-435-81) .
Planning and Development staff have proceeded with the
following in respect of the above:
1. Staff have prepared a draft report and zoning by-law
regarding the use of a portion of the Town Owned property
in Kirby for commercial uses;
2. Staff have requested M.T.C. to prepare a survey to
allow for the redesignation of the Kirby School Historic
site for the conveyance of lands to Mr. Wm. Reid et al
in accordance with point (1) above;

3. Staff have prepared the attached sketch maps showing
a possible layout for the school and house to be moved
into the site;
4. Staff have arranged for an inspection of the house by
the Chief Building Official;
5. Staff have requested comments for the Health Unit on
the acceptability of the layout described in (3) above.
Staff note that this matter is not included in the 1981
Work Program.
