SUBJECT: Annual Building Report - 1980
BACKGROUND:
Municipalities. are required to keep monthly and annual
records of building activity under the Ontario Building Code Act.
Attached please find Mr. Wight's submission for 1980 summarizing
construction activity in Newcastle by category, value and location.
Staff note that permits. for fifty-three (53) residential units were
issued in 1980; forty-three (43) of which were apartment ,tn;tG in the
Newcastle Village Senior Citizens Lodge. Only ten (10) single family
residential units were constructed in 1980.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the 1980 Building Report from the Chief Building
Official be forwarded to Council for information.
