SUBJECT: Newcastle Village Urban Area Plan - Part 2
Section 2 of the Newcastle District Plan

BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
In March of 1979, staff presented a first draft of the
Newcastle Village Urban Area Plan for the Committee's consideration.
Owing to a request for clarification of certain boundary
issues, and the then imminent Ontario Municipal Board Hearings, which
would have a bearing upon the Urban Area, no further action was taken
in respect of bringing the Plan forward for public input.
Following upon the conclusion of the related Ontario Municipal
Board Hearings, staff again began work on the Urban Area Plan in order
to revise it in accordance with the Board decisions and other planning
decisions which had transpired during the interim. The resultant revised
Urban Area Plan for Newcastle Village is included as Attachment 1 and
has been placed in circulation in order to obtain comments from the various
affected agencies. In that regard, staff shall be reporting further on
the subject urban area plan upon completion of the noted circulation.

RECOMMENDATION:
That the Planning and Development Committee recommend to
Council that Report P-141-80 be received for information.
