(416)263-2231 REPORT TO THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MEETING OF MARCH 17, 1980. REPORT NO. : P-43-80 SUBJECT: Committee of Adjustment - Application Fees BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: Under Section 42(6) of the Planning Act, the Committee of Adjustment "may prescribe a tariff of fees payable in respect of appli- cations made to it, which may vary according to the type of application, but in no case shall the fee payable on any application be more than $50.00." The Committee of Adjustment last reviewed its fee structure in 1974, when fees were raised from $25.00 to the current $40.00. Under the 1980 budget submission, an increase in the Committee's budget of $655.00 over the 1979 actual expenditure is proposed. In order to help defray this cost and in order to meet the $115.00 overrun on the c 1979 budget, planning staff feel that the Committee should be requested to raise its application fee to the maximum allowable under the Planning Act, ($50.00) . RECOMMENDATION That the Planning and Development Committee recommend to Council that the Following resolution be adopted: 2 - "Council hereby requests the Committee of Adjustment to raise its application fee to. $50.00 as soon as possible. " Respectfully submitted, DNS:lb D. N. Smith, M.C.I.P. March 3, 1980 Director of Planning
