REPORT TO THE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE MEETING OF SEPTEMBER
29, 1980.
REPORT NO. : P-158-80
SUBJECT: Attached Correspondence - Windsweep Farms Limited
(Port of Newcastle Inc.) - File: Z-A-3-12-5
BACKGROUND:
The attached letter from the solicitors for Windsweep Farms
Limited (Port of Newcastle Inc.) was forwarded to the Department
addressed to the Chairman of the Planning and Development Department
but to the attention of the Director. The letter follows a meeting
held on September 3, 1980 in which staff indicated that they would
endeavour to have a report on the rezoning and required development
agreement on the October 9, 1980 Planning Agenda. Mr. Spearing has
indicated that failing this possibility, he would appreciate a special
meeting of the Planning and Development Committee on October 16, 1980.
COMMENT:
Further to Mr. Spearing's request, staff would like the Committee's
direction on this matter. Staff are currently preparing tl-n:above mentioned
by-law and development agreement.

LOB 1JO
Attention Mr. D. N. Smith,
Director
Dear Sirs:
Re: Part of Lot 28 , Broken Front Concession,
Former Village of Newcastle
Our File No. 14952
Further to our conversation with Mr. Smith on
Wednesday, September 3 , 1980 , we confirm our request that the
proposed zoning by-law and Development Agreement with respect
to the above mentioned property be placed before the Planning
and Development Committee at :i.its next meeting scheduled for
October 9th and that the same subject matter be placed before
Council at its next meeting which I believe is scheduled for
October 20th. In the event that these matters cannot receive
consideration at the October 9th Planning and Development
Committee meeting, we would ask that a special meeting of the
Planning and Development Committee be held on October 16th
again with the same intent that the matter be put before
Council at its meeting on October 20th.
We would ask that the owners of the property, Port
of Newcastle Inc . , be permitted to attend both meetings as a
delegation to make representations with respect to both the
by-.law and the Development Agreement .
