REPORT NO. : P-158-80 SUBJECT: Attached Correspondence - Windsweep Farms Limited (Port of Newcastle Inc.) - File: Z-A-3-12-5 BACKGROUND: The attached letter from the solicitors for Windsweep Farms Limited (Port of Newcastle Inc.) was forwarded to the Department addressed to the Chairman of the Planning and Development Department but to the attention of the Director. The letter follows a meeting held on September 3, 1980 in which staff indicated that they would endeavour to have a report on the rezoning and required development agreement on the October 9, 1980 Planning Agenda. Mr. Spearing has indicated that failing this possibility, he would appreciate a special meeting of the Planning and Development Committee on October 16, 1980. COMMENT: Further to Mr. Spearing's request, staff would like the Committee's direction on this matter. Staff are currently preparing tl-n:above mentioned by-law and development agreement. Smith, Director Dear Sirs: Re: Part of Lot 28 , Broken Front Concession, Former Village of Newcastle Our File No. 14952 Further to our conversation with Mr. Smith on Wednesday, September 3 , 1980 , we confirm our request that the proposed zoning by-law and Development Agreement with respect to the above mentioned property be placed before the Planning and Development Committee at :i.its next meeting scheduled for October 9th and that the same subject matter be placed before Council at its next meeting which I believe is scheduled for October 20th. In the event that these matters cannot receive consideration at the October 9th Planning and Development Committee meeting, we would ask that a special meeting of the Planning and Development Committee be held on October 16th again with the same intent that the matter be put before Council at its meeting on October 20th. We would ask that the owners of the property, Port of Newcastle Inc . , be permitted to attend both meetings as a delegation to make representations with respect to both the by-.law and the Development Agreement . . 2 The Chairman, Page Two , September 4 , 1980.
