SUBJECT: Ontaric Planners' Conference - January 28, 29, 1980.
The White Paper on the Planning Act
The Prcposed New Planning Act for Ontario
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:

The Director of Planning attended the above mentioned con-
ference held on January 28 and 29, 1980, at the Downtown Holiday Inn,
Toronto.
The conference held in respect of the White Paper on the
Planning Act and The Prcposed New Planning Act for Ontario, provided
a detailed review of th legislation and a forum for a discussion of
the implications of the proposed Act among professional planners in
the Province.
On the basis of the discussion at the conference, and staff's
own review of the proposed legislation, staff will be submitting a
detailed report to Plani ling and Development Committee as the basis for
a possible Town submission on the Act.
