APPLICATION FOR DESIGNATED PROPERTY GRANT

"JOHN STALKER HOUSE"
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. THAT Report CD-23-89 be received;
2 . THAT a designated property grant in the amount of $3,000. 00 be
approved for Mr. David C. Climenhage;
3 . THAT the funds required be taken from the Miscellaneous
Clearing Account 1003-15-X; and
4 . THAT the Ministry of Citizenship and Culture, Mr. David
Climenhage and Mrs. Phyllis Dewell, Chairman, Local
Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee be advised of
Council's decision.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Mr. David Climenhage filed an application for a grant of $3,000. 00
to help offset the cost of work to be completed to the roof and
rear dormer of the "John Stalker House" , located at R.R. #2, Orono.
In May 1989, Council approved the application for grant in
principle (See Report CD-13-89 attached hereto) .

The work has now been completed on the dwelling. The Local
Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee has inspected the
work and has found it to be satisfactory (See attached letters) .
It is, therefore, recommended that the grant application of
$3,000.00 be approved.

BEEN COMPLETED. MY CANCELLED CHEQUE FOR PAYMENT TO THE CONTRACTOR
OF $6800 IS ATTACHED.
I AM COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH THE QUALITY OF WORK AND THAT
THE SHINGLES WERE APPLIED AS CLOSE TO THE ORIGINAL DETAIL AS
POSSIBLE.
