MUNICIPAL ELECTION
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that Council approve the following:
1. THAT Report CD-17-89 be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
The Municipal Elections Act states that all registered candidates for the municipal
election must file a financial statement with the Clerk of the Municipality no later
than the 30th day of June in the year following the election year. After this time
has expired, the Clerk must immediately prepare a statement disclosing the
information received and the names of any registered candidates who failed to file a
report.

The Act states that if a candidate's contributions and expenses do not exceed $1,000
each, a statutory declaration may be filed to that effect.
Accordingly, the attached statement of disclosure is forwarded for the information
of Council.

their campaign election finances in accordance with the Act.

of the complete information received are available for inspection in the clerk's office.
