APPLICATION FOR DESIGNATED PROPERTY GRANT

RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. THAT Report CD-13-89 be received;
2. THAT the Designated Property Grant Application submitted by Mr. David C.
Climenhage for a Grant of $3,000 be approved in principle;
3. THAT the funds required be taken from the Miscellaneous Clearing
Account #1003-15-X; and
4. THAT the Ontario Heritage Foundation, Mrs. Phyllis Dewell, L.A.C.A.C. Chairman,
and Mr. David Climenhage be so advised.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
The John Stalker House, R.R. #2, Orono, owned by David and Judith Climenhage, was
designated as a property of Architectural and Historical Value in 1987 (By-law
87-17) . The owners have identified work at a cost of $6,150 to be done to the roof
and rear dormer, and have filed an application for a grant of $3,000 to help offset
the cost of the project.

Owners of designated properties can apply for one grant per year. Mr. Climenhage
received a grant in 1988 to restore some masonry work on the exterior of his home.
This grant application was received by the Clerk's Department March 29, 1989, and
received L.A.C.A.C. approval April 25, 1989. The applicant must receive approval in
principle before any work can commence. Once the project has been completed, the
final work will be inspected by L.A.C.A.C. and a further report will be forwarded to
the Committee recommending that the grant be either approved or denied.
