FEE STRUCTURE - CLERK'S DEPARTMENT
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. THAT Report CD-10-89 be received;
2. THAT the following fees be in effect for the Town of Newcastle:
Council Agenda $500 Annually
Council Minutes $120 Annually
G.P.A. Agenda $900 Annually
G.P.A. Minutes $200 Annually
Agenda Pages $ 50 Annually
(Council or G.P.A.)
3. THAT the rate per page for copies of any record, book or document in the
possession or under the control of the Clerk be increased to $ .50 per page;
and
4. THAT the charge to any person for furnishing a certified copy of any record,
book or document in the possession or under the control of the Clerk be
$1.00 per certification.

BACKGROUND:
In December 1988, Committee requested the Clerk to investigate and report on a fee
structure for photocopying of documents.
The rates charged in surrounding municipalities are as follows:

The fee charged by the Town of Newcastle is $ .30/page. With having only a per page
charge, the Clerk's Secretary must keep track of the number of pages in each agenda
or set of minutes purchased, which involves a great deal of staff time. The fees
proposed are:
