THAT Report CD-6-89 be received; and 2 . THAT the Designated Property Grant application submitted by Mr. and Mrs . Millson for a grant of $1, 971 . 50 be approved in principal; 3 . THAT the funds required be taken from the Miscellaneous Clearing Account #1003-00015-0000 ;and 4 . THAT Mr. and Mrs . T4illson and Mrs . Phyllis Dewell, Chairman of the Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee be advised of the actions taken. BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS : The Eber Millson House, R.R. #1 Enniskillen, owned by Mr. and Mrs . Glen Millson was designated as a Heritage Property earlier this year. The owners have identified work at a cost of $3, 943 required to be done to the exterior surface of the structure and have filed an application for a grant of $1, 971. 50 to assist in off-setting the costs associated with the project. 6 3` o REPORT NO: CD-6-89 Page 2 ---------------------------------------------------------------- Grants are available to owners of designated properties under the Ministry of Culture and Communications "Designated Property Grant Program" . The Ministry has indicated that funds are available and it is appropriate that this application, which meets the program' s grant criteria, be processed at this time . For Committee ' s information I advise that funding for the program requires that the Municipality pay the Grant portion (first having determined that the works have been properly completed) and then make application to the Heritage Branch for re-,imbursemen't. The Town can obtain full recovery plus ten percent to cover the administrative cost. The Millson application was received in April of 1988 , however, because the designation has just recently been completed the application for grant can only now be approved. The Treasurer has indicated that funds pertaining to designated property grants would be taken from the Miscellaneous Clearing Account #1003-00015-0000 . Once the work has been completed and inspected by L.A.C.A.C. , a subsequent report will be forwarded to the Committee authorizing payment of the grant. Respectfully submitted, Recommended for presentation to the Committee - ----------- c Chief a Pat4/ Ba- rie A.M.C.T. W Lawrenc Kotseff Chief Clerk rhieXdm iKstrative Officer PLB*mj 6 4
