REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE MEETING OF
NOVEMBER 19TH 1984.

SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF TILE DRAINAGE LOANS
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . That this report be received; and
2. That the Tile Drainage Loan Applications detailed herein, be approved; and
(a) Gezina Marie Eikens, R. R. 2, Orono $4,300
(b) Paul & Mary Staples, 8,100
(c) Tom & mary- hiorawetz, R.R. 1 , Enniskillen 4,100
2. That the attached by-law be approved by Council and the by-law and
necessary support documentation be forwarded to the Regional
Municipality of Durham for processing; and
4. That the applicants be advised that their loans have been approved.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
This Department has received Tile Drainage Loan Applications totalling
$16,500.00 from the following persons:
(a) Gezine Marie Eikens, R. R. 2, Orono -
Tile Drainage Loan - $4,300;
(b) Paul and Mary Staples R. R. 1 , Orono -
Tile Drainage Loan - $8, 100 -
(c) Tom and Mary I8 rawetz, R. R. 1 , Enniskillen -
Tile Drainage Loan $4,100.
Total Loans this report $16,500.00

All of the applicants referred to in this report have installed the works
detailed in their applications. In each case the works have been inspected
by the Public Works Department, and "Inspection and Completion Certificates"
approving the installations have been provided to the Clerk's Department.
A by-law respecting the Tile Drainage Loans noted herein is also attached
for consideration and it is respectfully recommended that it be forwarded
to Council for passage.

UV-LAW 84-
being a by-law imposing special annual
drainage rates upon land in respect of
which money is borrowed under The Tile
Drainage Act, 1971

WHEREAS owners of land in the municipality have applied to the Council
under The Tile Drainage Act, 1971, for loans for the purpose of
constructing sub-surface drainage works on such land;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle
has upon their applications lent the owners the total sum of $16,600.00
to be repaid with interest by means of rates hereinafter imposed.
DE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Council of the Corporation of the Town of

Newcastle, that annual rates as set out in Schedule "A" attached hereto
are hereby imposed upon such land for a period of 10 years, such rates

to be levied and collected in the same manner as taxes.
