CD-43-84 - File: 10.2. 11 . SUBJECT: REQUEST BY THE OAS CAR CLUB FOR PERMISSION TO OPERATE A BEER GARDEN AT THE OSHAWA AUTO AUCTION DURING THE PERIOD JULY 14 TO JULY 15, 1984 INCLUSIVE. RECOMMENDATIONS: 1 . That this report be received; and life?d otc c k 2. That Council approve the request of the­,Osh a_.Car Club for permission to operate a beer garden on the Oshawa Auto Auction property, during the period July 14 to July 15, 1984, inclusive; and 3. That the Club be provided with a letter directed to the Liquor Licensing Board of Ontario, advising that the Council of the Town of Newcastle has no objection to the issuing of a Special Occasion Permit by the Board with respect to this event. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: On Friday, June 22nd 1984, Mr. Eric Miller delivered a letter to the Town together with letters of approval from the appropriate reporting and approving agencies. The request was, that Council be requested to approve f © �/'C V the application and pass a resolution supporting the Car Club's special event. This organization held a similar event last year (August 5 to 6 1983) . The event was sanctioned by Council at the meeting of Monday, July 25th, 1983. I am advised, that profits from the two-day event are donated to a local charity or community organization and, I believe, the recipients this year will be the Bowmanville Lions Club. Oakes, A.M.C.T., Town Clerk Mr. Oakes We, the membersof MOTOR CITY CAR CLUB, are planning to hold an outdoor BEER GARDEN at the Oshawa Auto Auction, Hwy. 401 and Courtice Road on July 14 and 15 . The licenced area will have no minors allowed and will be open Sat. 11 am till 7 pm and Sun. 12 noon til 6 pm. ' The beer garden will have a double row pedestrian fence on two sides and will be outside and adjacent to the auction hall. See the attached sheet for further details. Proper toilet facilities will be supplied in compliance with the health board. Police and Fire Departments have been advised of this function in writing. As well , a letter from the Lions Club of Bowmanville confirming that all proceeds will -be forwarded to charity will be enclosed with our application to the Liquor Board. A resolution from your council is needed by us to include with our application and we would, therefore, appreciate,. a response at your earliest convenience. Baker The members of MOTOR CITY CAR CLUB are applying for a Special Occasion Permit for an Outdoor Beer Garden, to be held at Oshawa Auto Auction, Huy. 401 and Courtice Road on July 14 & 150 1984. The licenced area would be approximately 50 ft by 30 ft outside the auction hall and no minors will be allowed in this area, two sides of which will be a double row fence. We will be selling beer only during the hours of Sat. 11 am to 7 pm, and Sun. 12 noon till 6 pm Please note that all proceeds from the beer garden are donated to the Lions Club of Bowmanville.
