CD-42-84 - File: 10.57.99. SUBJECT: NIGHT DEPOSITORY, CANADIAN IMPERIAL BANK OF COMMERCE NEWCASTLE VILLAGE. RECOMMENDATIONS: 1 . It is respectfully recommended that this report be received; and 2. That Council authorize the Mayor and Clerk to execute the documents from the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Newcastle Village, which will permit Community Services Recreation Staff to utilize the wallet depository service. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: On Friday, June 22nd 1984, staff were advised, that the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Newcastle Village, would not permit staff of Community Services, to utilize the wallet depository service without the execution of documents by the Town's Signing Officers. The service is one which is regularly used by recreation staff and is necessary in that it provides protection to funds collected outside regular office or banking hours. The wallet depository procedure has been used for years, however, this is the first time that the bank has required execution of documents by other than employees who regularly deposit and pick up the wallets.
