REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE MEETING OF
JUNE 18, 1984.

SUBJECT: APPOINTMENT OF VOTING DELEGATES
A.M.O. CONFERENCE, AUGUST 19TH to AUGUST 22nd 1984.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . That this report be received; and
2. That the Clerk advise A.M.O. that the Town of Newcastle's delegates
are:
(a) Councillor Marie Hubbard
(b) Councillor R. Bruce Taylor
(c) Director of Planning, T. T. Edwards
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Following consideration of Clerk's Report CD-36-84 by Committee on June
4th 1984, and adoption of the recommendations by Council on June 11 , 1984,
Council determined, that Councillors Hobbs, Hubbard and Taylor, and Planning
Director, Terry Edwards, would be the Town's voting delegates at this year's
A.M.O. Conference. Councillor Hubbard and Taylor agreed to attend the
Conference. Councillor Hobbs agreed to attend, provided it did not conflict
with other scheduled activities. On Tuesday, June 12th 1984, Councillor
Hobbs indicated that he would be unable to attend the Conference.

The matter of :Conference delegates was discussed with the Administrator.
It was determined, that the Committee should be advised of the names of the
persons who would attend the Conference as voting delegates; namely,
Councillors Hubbard and Taylor, and Planning Director Terry Edwards.
It would now be appropriate for the Committee to consider this report, and
recommend the passage of the resolution establishing the voting delegates
to Council.
