THAT Report CLD-018-04 be received; 2. THAT the by-laws attached to Report CLD-018-04 to appoint parking enforcement officers for private property be forwarded to Council for approval; and 3. THAT ~G~~ebster, Jill McMurter, Newton Trelawney Property Management Services, Parkwood Village Condominium Corporation and Securitas Canada be advised of Council's actions. . ( '. Newton Trelawney Property Management Services owns the townhouse complex located at 83, 87 and 91 Aspen Springs Drive in Bowmanville. The company wishes to hire Mr. Bruce Webster to perform the enforcement duties on site as they relate to Handicapped, Fire Route and Visitor Parking offences. Parkwood Village Condominium Corporation has approached the Municipality and requested that an officer from Securitas Canada be authorized to issue parking tickets on their property at 1651 to 1659 Nash Road, Courtice. The officer Securitas is proposing is Jill J. McMurter. In order for both Mr. Webster and Ms. McMurter to be able to perform these duties they must be appointed pursuant to the Police Services Act as Parking Enforcement Officers. Mr. Webster and Ms. McMurter are aware that once appointed they must attend at the Municipal Administrative Centre for training prior to commencing any enforcement duties. L1E1S8 1105 THE CORPORATiON OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CLARINGTON BY.LAW 2004- Being a by-law to appoint individuals for Parking Enforcement Officers for private property WHEREAS Section 15(1) fo the Police Services Act R.S.O. 199 Chapter P 15, aphorizes a Council of a Municipality to appoint one or more persons who shall be peace officers for the purpose of enforcing the by-laws of the Municipality; and WHEREAS it is desirable to appoint Jill J. McMurter as a Parking Enforcement Officer for the sole purpose of enforcing the Traffic Bay-law of the Municipality of Clarington on the properties located at 1651 to 1659 Nash Road Courtice, in the Municipality of Clarington: NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Clarington hereby enacts as follows: 1. Jill J. McMurter Is hereby appOinted as a Parking Enforcement Officer for the sole purpose of enfDrcing the Traffic By-law of the Municipality of Clarington on the properties iocated at 1651 to 1659 Nash Road Courtice, in the Municipality of Clarington. 2. This by-law shall come into full force and effect immediately on the day of final passing by Council. By-law read a first and second lime this day of 2004.
