REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE MEETING OF
MAY 7TH 1984.

SUBJECT: REQUEST BY MR. & MRS.ROBERT GIBSON, R. R. #5, BOWMANVILLE,
TO OCCUPY AN OLD EXISTING DWELLING ON LOT 6, CONCESSION 8,
FORMER TOWNSHIP OF DARLINGTON, DURING THE CONSTRUCTION
OF THEIR NEW DWELLING.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended, that the General Purpose and
.Administration Committee recommend the following to Council :
1 . That this report be received; and
2. That the application be approved, subject to the applicant's
meeting all of the Town of Newcastle's requirements with respect
to building permits and clearances; and
3. That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute the standard
agreement to permit the occupying of the existing residential
dwelling during the construction of the new home, for a period not
exceeding six months.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Mr. & Mrs. Robert Gibson, R. R. #5, Bowmanville, have by letter, dated
April 10, 1984, requested, that the municipality give consideration to,
and grant permission to occupy the old residence during the construction
of their new home.

The Planning Department has indicated, that they have no objection to
the request being approved, subject only to the applicant's executing
the standard agreement, and meeting all of the Town 's requirements with
respect to building permits and clearances, and, of course, on the
clear understanding that the approval would only be for a six month
period.
