o,EaEq.o CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE c> w OFFICE OF THE TOWN CLERK 40 TEMPERANCE STREET TELEPHONE 623-3379 BOWMAN ILLE, ONTARIO L1 C 3A6 REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE MEETING OF MARCH 19, 1984. CD-21-84 - File: 56.15. 100. SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO BY-LAW 78-38 ENTITLED A BY-LAW TO PROVIDE FOR THE LICENSING AND REGULATING OF PLACES OF AMUSEMENT WITHIN THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE (Schedule "C") RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. That this report be received; and 2. That the by-law attached to this report authorizing the deletion of Schedule "C" to By-law 78-38 and the substitution of the revised Schedule "C" be approved. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: By-law 78-38 was given first reading on the 8th of May 1978. It was given second reading, and finally passed on the 28th day of June 1982. On November 28th 1983, an amending By-law 83-158 was passed by Council . This amendment permitted the revision of the application forms required to be completed by persons applying for a licence. During a recent review of By-law 78-38 and the attached schedules, it was noted that the original Schedule "C" to By-law 78-38, contained a directional defect in the legend that describes the areas of Bowmanville where places of amusement are permitted to operate. More particularly, the legend on Schedule "C" to By-law 78-38 describes one of the permitted areas as being . . . 122 metres westerly (of Simpson Road). It should read . . . 122 metres easterly (of Simpson Road).
