REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE MEETING OF
MARCH 5, 1984.

SUBJECT: OPENING CEREMONY - NEW ORONO FIRE STATION
FIRE STATION #3.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. That this report be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
The General Purpose and Administration Committee, on February 6th 1984, passed
Resolution #GPA-146-84 . . . authorizing staff to make the necessary arrangements

for the Opening of the New Fire Station in Orono, and limiting the costs
associated with the opening to $500.00. Council , on February 13th 1984,
adopted and ratified the recommendation.
All necessary arrangements were made and the event was carried out on schedule
and within budget. Costs associated with the event were:
1. Storsbergen Catering (150 persons) $321.00
2. Plaque Drape and Backdrop,material only 24.55
3. Ribbon 1.50
TOTAL $347.05
The drape and frame are re-usable and will be available for use for other similar
purposes; for example, when dedicating the several heritage homes presently
being processed for heritage designation.

As directed, the costs associated with this activity have been charged to
the Receptions and Tributes Account #7007-0235-X-5.
