BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: The Planning Department reported on the subject property and the Clarke Library/ Museum Property at the General Purpose and Administration Committee Meeting on October 3rd 1983. (Copy Attached) Continued . . . . ./2 rk U CD-10-84 - 2 - January 16, 1984 The Committee Tabled Planning Report PD-143-83 pending the outcome of a discussion of the designation relating to the Library/Museum with the Library Board. I am not aware of the outcome of that meeting and, L.A.C.A.C. has requested that we proceed with the designation of Waltham Cottage, 49 Division Street, Bowmanville. As members of the Committee are aware, Council at the meeting of January 9th 1984, authorized the designation of two other properties in Bowmanville (99 Church Street and 85 High Street. ) Because of the work and costs associated with the process, it would be of great assistance if the Committee would lift Report PD-143-83 from the Table and deal with the portion of the report relating to 49 Division Street, Bowmanville. If the Committee agrees that the Waltham Cottage should be designated, it would be appropriate to recommend its designation to Council . Staff would then be in a position to undertake the designating of this property along with the two properties approved by Council on January 9th 1984. The balance of the report dealing with the designating of the Clarke Library/ Museum could be Tabled for a further period of time. Respectfully submitted, David W. Oakes, B.A. , A.M.C.T. , Town Clerk. DWO/ms Attachment. January 10, 1984. i
