Subject: TENDER NW93-11, SUPPLY ONLY GRANULAR "A" GRAVEL
Recommendations:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1 . THAT Report TR-34-93 be received;
2 . THAT TRT Sand and Gravel, Orono, Ontario, with a total
bid in the amount of $48,021. 60 being the lowest
responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and
specifications of Tender NW93-11, be awarded the
contract for the supply only of Granular "A" Gravel, as
required by the Town of Newcastle; and
3 . THAT the funds expended be provided from the approved
1993 Public Works Road Maintenance and Construction
budget.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Tenders were publicly advertised and called for the supply only
of Granular "All Gravel, as required by the Department of Public
Works.
Subsequently, tenders were received and tabulated as follows:

TENDER NW93-111 SUPPLY ONLY GRANULAR "A" GRAVEL
The total funds required for Tender NW93-11, Supply Only of
Granular "A" Gravel are included in the Department of Public
Works Gravel Patching and Resurfacing account, as well as various
other construction accounts, from which there are adequate funds
available.
The Treasurer has reviewed the funding requirements and concurs
with the recommendation. Queries with respect to department
needs, specifications, etc. , should be referred to the Director
of Public Works.
After review and analysis of the tenders by Public Works and
Purchasing staff, it was agreed that TRT Sand and Gravel, be
awarded the contract to supply only Granular "A" Gravel as
required by the Town of Newcastle Public Works Department. The
subject firm has worked with satisfaction for the Town of
Newcastle in recent years .
