SUBJECT: REQUEST FROM ROSE SIKMA, R. R. #1, ORONO
REQUEST PERMISSION TO USE A MOBILE HOME AS A TEMPORARY
RESIDENCE DURING THE PERIOD OF RESIDENCE RECONSTRUCTION
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. That this report be received; and
2. That the application be approved, subject to Mr. and Mrs. Sikma
meeting all of the Town's requirements with respect to zoning, and
building permit applications; and
3. That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute the standard agreement
with the applicants, to permit the use of a mobile home as a temporary
residence during the period of construction, not exceeding six months.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Mr. and Mrs. Sikma have advised, that their residence located at R. R. #1,
Orono, was destroyed by fire on April 2, 1983. To facilitate the construction
of a new residence in the shortest time possible, the Sikma's have requested
that they be granted permission to move a mobile home onto the site, and use
it as a temporary residence for the duration of the construction period.
In view of the circumstances, it is recommended that the request be approved,
subject to the Sikma's meeting the Town's requirements with respect to zoning
and the acquisition of the necessary building permits.
