SUBJECT: TO CONSIDER APPOINTMENTS TO VARIOUS
BOARDS AND COMMITTEES
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
In accordance with Council 's direction, an advertisement was published in
all newspapers within the Town of Newcastle, inviting interested persons to
submit applications for consideration and appointment to the following
boards and committees:
1. Public Library Board
2. Committee of Adjustment
3. Museum Board
4. Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee
5. Game Commission
6. Livestock Valuers
7. Fence Viewers
8. Pound Keepers
9. Property Standards Committee (to be appointed in June 1983)
10. Hospital Board (to be appointed in June 1983)
11. Cemetery Boards - not included in advertising but letters
requesting appointments have been received
12. Orono Town Hall Board - not included in advertising but a
letter requesting appointments has been received.

The Northumberland and Newcastle Board of Education has appointed Mrs. Janet
Pollitt as their representative for the years 1983, 1984, and 1985.
The Peterborough, Victoria, Northumberland and Newcastle Roman Catholic
Separate School Board has re-appointed Mrs. Mary Malik for the years
1983, and 1984. (85?)
Mr. William Montgomery's term has expired and he is prepared to accept
re-appointment for the years 1983, 1984 and 1985.
Applications were also received from the following persons seeking appointments
to the Library Board:
(a) Mr. Robert Henry, R. R. #6, Bowmanville
(b) Mr. William S. Lover, 50 Mill Street North, Newcastle
(c) Mrs. Gillian Bellefontaine, 57 Division Street, Bowmanville
