SUBJECT: KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL 6361
BOWMANVILLE, REQUEST FOR PERMISSION TO SELL
LOTTERY TICKETS IN THE TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. That this report be received; and
2. That the Knights of Columbus Council 6361, Bowmanville, be granted
permission to sell raffle lottery tickets in the Town of Newcastle
during the period ending May 23, 1983; and
3. That Mr. Victor Auger, 211 Liberty St. N. , Bowmanville, be so
advised.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
The Knights of Columbus, Ontario State Council , hold a Raffle Lottery on an
annual basis across Ontario.
The Provincial regulations require, that before any tickets are sold in any
municipality, the local agent in this case the Knights of Columbus Council
6361, must obtain the local Council 's approval .
Mr. Auger has indicated in his letter of application, that the proceeds of
the lottery will go to support local charities; principally the Arthritis
Society. A copy of Provincial Lottery Licence Number 373033 authorizing
the holding of the lottery has also been provided.

The Raffle Lottery meets all of the Provincial Criteria and, this
department would recommend that the local Council of the Knights of
Columbus be authorized to sell lottery tickets in the Town of Newcastle
during the period ending May 23, 1983.
