SEPTEMBER 13, 1982.

SUBJECT: 125TH ANNIVERSARY OF BOWMANVILLE CELEBRATIONS
ADVERTISEMENT FOR MEMBERS OF STEERING COMMITTEE
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. That this report be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Council directed that this department place an advertisement in all of the
local newspapers inviting individuals, groups and associations to submit their
names for consideration in the formation of a "Steering Committee" for the
125th Anniversary of Bowmanville Celebrati.on.s.
Advertisements were published on August 4th 1982, and the following
have submitted their names for consideration:
1. Mr. William Bagnell , Scugog Street, Bowmanville;
2. Mr.. Earl Malley, 63 King Street West, Bowmanville;
3. Mrs. Marion Veinot, c/o Bowmanville Museum, Silver Street, Bowmanville;
4, Ms. Donna M. Fairey, 62 - 68 King Street West, Bowmanville;
5. Bowmanville Kinette Club;
6. The Kinsmen Club of Bowmanville.
Having regard for the fact that only 4 residents and 2 organizations
responded to the invitation to participate in the formation of a Steering
Committee, Council might wish to reconsider the establishing of a Steering
Committee and provide staff with further direction.
