CD-53-82 - 2 - September 13, 1982
By reason of Section 62 (Abandoned Cemeteries) of the Cemetery Act, the
maintenance. of the cemetery is automatically the responsibility of the
Municipality which is considered to be the owner.
It would be appropriate for the Town to accept the Ministry's offer to
fence the property and provide non-vehicular access and accept the property
from them.
It will be necessary to amend Schedule 'A' to By-law 77-25 to include this
cemetery in the list of abandoned cemeteries in the former Township of
Clarke, forward the By-law to the Cemeteries Branch of the Ministry of
Consumer and Commercial Relations, and advise the Clarke Cemetery Board.
Respectfully submitted,
David W. Oakes, A.M.C.T.
Town Clerk.
