Director Emergency & Fire Services Chief Administrative Officer MGC:sr 9)7 REPORT NO.: ESD-016-02 PAGE 2 BACKGROUND AND COMMENT In November 1999 Council passed By-law 99-161 being the Emergency Measures By- law. This by-law replaced the 1987 By-law 87-53. At that time By-law 87-53 should have been repealed, but was not. Therefore, staff is presenting a by-law (attached) to rectify this matter and repeal By-law 87-53. Attachment: By-law to repeal By-law 87-53 CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CLARINGTON 40 TEMPERANCE STREET, BOWMANVILLE, ONTARIO L 1C 3A6 T(905)623-3379 F (905)623-6506 91 8 THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CLARINGTON BY-LAW #2002- being a by-law to repeal By-law #87-53, being a by-law formulating a plan for protecting property and the health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants in an emergency area WHEREAS at a meeting held on September 16,2002, the Council of the Municipality of Clarington adopted the recommendations contained in Report ESD-16-02; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CLARlNGTON HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: THAT By-law #87-53 is hereby repealed. By-law read a first and second time this 16th day of September 2002. By-law read a third time and finally passed this 16th day of September 2002. John Mutton, Mayor Patti L.
