SUBJECT:
ESTABLISH A NEW RESERVE ENTITLED
TECHNICAL SERVICES - PLANNING DEPARTMENT
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and
Administration Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That report TR-99-87 be received; and
2. That staff be authorized to establish a Technical
Services Reserve Account - Planning Department; and
3. That the Treasurer be directed to transfer $80,000.00
from the Consulting Services account (7702-X-0247) in
the Planning Department to the Technical Services
Reserve Account; and
4. That the attached by-law be forwarded to Council for approval.
BACKGROUND & COMMENTS:
The establishment of a technical services reserve account would allow
for the transfer of funds in subsequent current budgets in respect of
equipment purchases and consulting services. This would enable the
Planning Department to deal with equipment replacement and unallocated
consulting services on an ongoing basis. This would be particularly
useful where Council resolves to take action on Planning related issues
for which budget allocations have not been made and for which consulting
services will be required.
